Portrait of a committed generation

Directed by Susanne Erler

From Paris to Warsaw, via Berlin, a tour of Europe's militant movements led by the younger generation.

Lucid, indignant, committed: for a growing fraction of today's youth, action is urgently needed. Against the deadly lifestyle of past generations that precipitated the climate crisis, against social inequalities and discrimination, against an economy globalized to the point of absurdity, whose flaws the outbreak of the coronavirus has highlighted more than ever.

In this film, ZDF journalist Aline Abboud gives a voice to young Europeans committed to shaking things up. In France, she meets Priscillia Ludosky, a figure in the «Yellow jackets» movement, or Assa Traoré, an anti-racist activist. In Poland, she talks to progressive, pro-LGBT activists like artist Daniel Rycharski, who are facing up to the rise of nationalism and conservatism in their country; and in Germany, with the «Generationen» foundation, which intends to influence institutions to make the voices of younger generations heard, particularly on climate issues.
