The things we could say
Written and directed by Morgane Doche
Morgane Doche, herself speech-impaired, followed 4-year-old twins Hedi and Issa, two little autistic boys who are fighting, with their parents and seasoned professionals, to learn to speak.
How do you communicate when you can't speak? Issa and Hedi are four-year-old twins suffering from autism, which prevents them from communicating other than through onomatopoeia, screaming and crying. Morgane Doche knows all about this inability to communicate. At the age of 3, she lost the use of speech and part of her body. She then had to relearn how to stand, walk, talk and find her place in a society based on communication. Without ever being able to speak.
Morgane has moved in with Issa and Hedi's family. Convinced that the boys will be able to go to school, their parents Elodie and Oijdi do everything they can to get the twins talking. Through speech therapy exercises, short stays in a specialized center, contact with other disabled children in an open crèche, sensory experiences at the seaside or with ponies, Elodie and Oijdi see their children go from cries to noises, from syllables to words and then to sentences. In September 2016, Issa and Hedi were finally accepted into kindergarten.
