Generation What? is the fist campaign that invited the European youth to define itself and take stands. This portrait of the 18-34-year-old generation outgrows borders. For six months, Generation What? places the youth of Europe at the center of the stage.
In 2013, France Télévisions offered the French youth to make its autoportrait. Over 250,000 French connected to the “Generation What” to express their opinion and compare themselves to their counterparts. They answered over 23 million questions.
The facts : 70% of this generation considers that society no longer gives them the means of showing what they’re capable of. It no longer really trust the main ruling institutions (National Education, the media, and politicians) and 61% said they were ready to take part in a large relvolt movement.
Several youths reveal themselves. Students, employed people, short-term contracters and unemployed people, don’t think the same way. They do not share the same fears and the same dreams.
What about in Europe? Never has a generation been so highly educated, globalized and connected. At the age of 20, do you see the world the same way in Marseille as in Cardiff, in Prague and in Berlin, in Turin and in Barcelona ?
